Editing

Edit the video by editing the text.

Autocuts transcribes your recording on your Mac and connects every word to the timeline. Cleanup becomes reading, not scrubbing.

How to clean up a take

1

Generate the transcript

Transcription runs on your Mac. The audio never uploads, and the words arrive linked to the timeline.

2

Read for problems

Scan the text for filler words, false starts, and the sections you want gone. Reading is faster than replaying.

3

Cut from the text

Remove the words and the matching video goes with them. Fine-tune the result on the clip timeline if you want.

Where do captions come from?

The same transcript. After cleanup, export subtitle sidecars in SRT and VTT next to your video; see export and captions. Because the transcript was corrected during cleanup, the captions match what viewers actually hear.

Is my audio sent to a server?

No. Transcription is on-device, like recording and editing. The transcript cleanup page explains the full feature.

Fix the take by reading it.

Download Autocuts and cut filler words from the transcript.
