1. Accepting these terms
By using autocuts.ai or an early-access Autocuts build, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or app.
2. Early-access status
Autocuts is under active development. Features may be incomplete, change, or stop working. Early-access availability is not guaranteed, and we may limit, suspend, or end access while we improve or protect the product.
3. Permission to use the app
If we provide an early-access build, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to install and evaluate it on Macs you control. This permission does not transfer ownership of the Autocuts brand or product materials that are not offered under a separate license.
Some Autocuts source code and included components may be available under the MIT License or another open-source license. Those license terms govern the material they cover, and nothing in these terms limits rights already granted by an applicable open-source license.
Purchase license scope, device limits, update rights, and refund terms will be shown at checkout when public sales open. The intended launch offer is for two Macs and includes a 14-day money-back period, but those commercial terms are not active until a purchase can be completed.
4. Your recordings and files
You keep your rights in recordings, scripts, images, and other content you create or import. You are responsible for keeping backups and for ensuring you have permission to record people, screens, audio, accounts, and confidential information.
Autocuts stores current project files locally. Deleting, moving, or changing those files outside the app may make a project unavailable or incomplete.
5. Permissions and third-party components
The app needs macOS permissions for the sources you choose to capture. Optional transcription may download a speech model from an external service. macOS, codecs, model files, and external services can have their own licenses, terms, or availability.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Autocuts to violate law, privacy, intellectual property, or another person's rights. You may not distribute malware, interfere with the app or site, bypass access controls, misrepresent your authorization to record, or use the product to facilitate abuse.
7. Product information
We try to keep feature, compatibility, and price information accurate. Screenshots, demos, planned prices, and early-access descriptions may change before the public release. A stated future feature or offer is not a guarantee.
8. Support
Early-access support is available through support@autocuts.ai. We aim to help, but do not promise a response time or that every compatibility problem can be resolved.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and early-access app are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so those exclusions may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Autocuts will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of recordings, data, profits, business, or goodwill arising from use of the site or app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim. During free early access, that amount is zero.
11. Ending access
You may stop using Autocuts at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially violate these terms, create a security or legal risk, or if the early-access program ends.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as the product and commercial offer develop. The revision date appears at the top. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@autocuts.ai.
