Autocuts1. Scope
This policy applies to the autocuts.ai website, email sent to support@autocuts.ai, and the current Autocuts desktop app for macOS.
2. Recordings and project files
The desktop app records your chosen screen source, camera, microphone, and system audio only after you select those sources and macOS grants the required permissions. The app writes recordings and related project files to the Autocuts folder in your Mac Videos directory.
The current app does not upload recordings to Autocuts for editing. Trimming, motion effects, layouts, captions, and export are performed by the desktop app on your Mac.
3. Screen, camera, and microphone permissions
macOS controls access to Screen Recording, Camera, and Microphone. You can review or remove these permissions in System Settings. Removing a permission may prevent the matching recording feature from working.
4. Transcription model
Caption transcription runs on your Mac. The first time you use transcription, the app may download a speech-recognition model from an external model distribution service. That request can reveal ordinary network information such as your IP address to the service delivering the model. Once the model is available locally, the recording does not need to be sent to Autocuts for transcription.
5. Desktop app analytics and accounts
The current desktop build does not require an Autocuts account and does not include third-party app analytics or telemetry. Saved presets and product settings are stored locally on the Mac.
6. Website data
The hosting provider for autocuts.ai may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, requested URL, browser details, timestamp, and security logs. The current landing page does not set up behavioral analytics in the browser.
7. Email and early access
If you request early access or contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or technical details you choose to send. We use that information to respond, provide requested access or support, and understand the issue you reported.
Do not send private recordings or sensitive files unless they are necessary for your request and you are authorized to share them.
8. Payments
Public checkout is not currently open. Autocuts does not collect payment-card details through this website. Before payments launch, this policy and the checkout disclosure will identify the payment provider and the information it processes.
9. Sale, advertising, and training
We do not sell personal information or use recordings for advertising. Because recordings are not uploaded to Autocuts by the current app workflow, Autocuts does not use them to train models.
10. Retention
Local recordings remain on your Mac until you move or delete them. Support and early-access email is kept as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain the relationship, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational settings.
11. Security
We use reasonable safeguards for information under our control, but no device, email system, or internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your Mac account, keep backups of important recordings, and remove sensitive content before sharing an export.
12. Your choices
You can remove macOS permissions, delete local files, avoid transcription-model downloads, or choose not to send an email. To ask about or request deletion of information you sent directly to Autocuts, contact support@autocuts.ai. We may need to verify the request.
13. Children
Autocuts is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The date at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes will be described on this page before or when they take effect.
