On-device transcription

Clean up screen recordings from the transcript.

On-device transcript generation turns speech into editable text on your Mac. Remove filler words, cut unwanted lines, style captions, and export subtitle files.

From spoken words to an editable timeline

The transcript is a faster way to navigate a narration-heavy screen recording.

Cut by transcript

Select unwanted words or a sentence and remove the matching part of the recording.

Filler word removal

Find common verbal fillers and review the cuts before you commit to a tighter take.

Captions and sidecars

Burn styled captions into the video or export SRT and VTT subtitle files.

Local speech processing

Transcription runs on your device

The first transcription can download a speech model. Once it is available, Autocuts processes the recording on your Mac instead of uploading the video for transcription.

You stay in control of the original files and decide where the exported video and subtitle files are shared.

  • Word-level timing
  • Editable caption text
  • Burned-in or separate subtitles
  • No recording upload for transcription

Does transcript cleanup replace normal video editing?

It handles speech-oriented work well, but the clip timeline remains available for visual adjustments. Use the transcript to find and tighten narration, then use the timeline for frame-level trims, speed changes, camera layout changes, or edits to automatic zooms.

Should every filler word be removed?

No. A natural pause or occasional filler can make a presentation sound human. Review the proposed cleanup in context and keep anything that supports the rhythm or meaning of the sentence.

Which formats can I export?

Autocuts supports MP4 (H.264) and WebM (VP9) video, optional burned-in captions, plus SRT and VTT subtitle sidecars.
